The Denver International Airport is about 15-20 minutes away from Stapleton and downtown Denver is only a quick 10-minute ride away. There is easy access to several local highways and interstates.

Places that all visitor’s might want to check out are the U.S. Mint in Denver, the Blue Bear at the Colorado Convention Center, the Denver Zoo, LoDo Historic District, Denver Museum of Nature and & Science, the 16th Street Pedestrian Mall, and Denver Botanic Gardens. Schools

There are several award winning educational programs, teachers, and staff at Stapleton’s schools. The Stapleton website says that “100% of DSST’s graduates were accepted to college over the last few years.” The district is opening a high-tech elementary school in the fall of 2014. It is also home to the Anchor Center for Blind Children and Montessori House of Children’s Denver.

Local attractions

There are several restaurants that are popular in the Stapleton area including Quebec Square, I-Hop, Buffalo Wild Wings, Jimmy John’s, Chipotle Mexican Grill, E. 29th Avenue Town Center, The Shops at Northfield Stapleton, McDonald’s, Panera, Panda Express, The Berkshire Restaurant, Noodles & Company, Subway, and plenty of outdoor markets including farmers markets for access to local produce.

Outdoor activities

The local recreation center has a public pool with resident fees and guest fees. An Olympic sized pool is scheduled to be installed in the near future. The pool is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day every year from 12 pm to 8 pm on weekdays and from 10 am to 8 pm on the weekends according to the Colorado website.

Parks

Denver’s Central Park, right in the heart of Stapleton; it is the third largest park and recreational area in Denver behind City Park and Washington Park. There are also more than 1,000 acres of dedicated park and open areas for recreation, and family and community events.

The Green, Stapleton Dog Park, Sand Creek Greenway, Westerly Creek Greenway, Greenway Park, and Fred Thomas Park are all located in Stapleton. Numerous playgrounds and play areas are located throughout the community and near local home building communities.

Other activities

Some other activities that are local to the Denver and Stapleton areas are the ones in Golden, CO, a few minutes outside of downtown Denver. The Red Rocks Amphitheater and Visitor’s Center is exquisitely designed with red rocks from the mountains.

The Colorado Railroad Museum houses more than 100 train cars. The Buffalo Bill Museum & Grave is the historic site of the Pony Express Riders’ final resting place. Everyone who gets a chance should take the Coors Brewery Tour that concludes with free samples for those over the age of 21.
