Brought to you by the Highland Merchants Association
The 31st Annual Highlands Street Fair (HSF2013) returns for one slamming good day on June 15th, the day before Father’s Day. On from dusk til dawn in Highlands Square, along 32nd Avenue from Julian to Perry Streets. Admission is free and ALL are welcome!
32nd Avenue, which is normally the hub of the Highlands neighborhood, will become its thriving, pulsing nerve center. Some 40,000 “Northwest-siders” and Denverite fair-goers from all over the city will find eclectic music on two stages that bookend the footprint for the festival. The Highland Pacific stage at Perry Street and Deschutes Brewery stage at Julian Street.
We will have some of the best food vendors and couture provided by 200 merchants and artisans. The Vintage Car Show and interactive children play areas mean HSF 2013 has something for everyone!
If you love to eat, you will have a great variety of foods to choose from; turkey legs and BBQ to kabobs and wings; tasty cupcakes, ginormous cereal treats and kettle corn are among the dessert fare.
Don’t miss one of our sponsor Deschutes’ brews, like their newest Twilight Summer Ale; a lighter, yet full-flavored, aromatic ale for the long days of summer. Looking for a sweet and salty 1800 Tequila margarita? We’ve got that too, right at the corner of W 32nd Ave and Lowell. Maybe a Deep Eddy Sweet Tea Vodka is up your alley? Got ya covered! For something less potent, ice cold Coke and water will be readily available too.
For the past 30 years, the Highlands Street Fair has provided a great family-friendly environment where children can play and enjoy various activities! The ever-popular Kids’ Zone offers lots of options for creativity with face painting, craft-making, jumping gyms and other fun activities. Explore & Discover, a local non-profit co-op childcare center, creates the activities in the Kids’ Zone.
Another Street Fair favorite is the Vintage Car Show sponsored by the Rocky Mountain Cruisers. It showcases great classic cars as well as giving back to the Highlands neighborhood with their support of The Tennyson Center for Children. Come by and check out those cars of yesteryear and vote for your favorite car.
At 10:00 am, the sounds of bagpipers will echo down 32nd Avenue signaling that the Highlands Street Fair is officially open for a day of great music, food and fun. You will not want to miss it!
Come spend your day in the heart of the Highlands neighborhood. Consider keeping it green and bike to HSF2013. Denver B-Cycle will have a bike corral/station at 32nd and Julian.
